Lies within the holy premises of lord Venketeswara, Swami Pushkarini Lake holds much religious significance. It is believed to be the holy pleasure lake of the almighty in Vaikuntha, where he takes his bathe along with his consorts. The popular belief is that Garuda brought this teertha and the water in the tank is holy, redolent, accordant and fortunate. This lake is regarded as so pure that it shares its credentials with ganges and all the sacred rivers. So a holy bathe in this tank would fetch the devotee with great fortune and temporal prosperity. Doing daily rituals and prayers on the banks of the Swamy pushkarini is believed to cure abnormalities of the body. The holy water tank Swami Pushkarini is assumed to wipe out sins and evils.
Swami Pushkarini Lake is situated within the main premises of Sri Venkateswara Temple that has religious significance. This is also considered to be the holy lake of Vaikuntha, where Lord Vishnu used to take bath with his wife. Garuda is believed to have brought the theertha and water at this site. The holy water tank at this place is associated with cleansing all the evils and sins of the people.
Before visiting Sri Venkateshwara Temple you must take holy dip or even sprinkle little bit of water from this holy lake. This lake is considered to be sacred and is neighboring to Lord Venkateshwara Temple.
According to legend, this lake was brought down to earth by Garuda for Lord Venkateswara and was originally for the sport of Vishnu. However, it has been said that a daily ceremony and prayers on its bank may help to fight the negativity and to cure oddity of the body.
