A place revered because of its importance in the life of the holy Sai Baba, Gurusthan is a must-stop spot for those who are on a pilgrimage in Shirdi. It is believed that Sai Baba came to Shirdi as a child-ascetic and was first seen at the present Gurusthan, seated under a tree. After its restructuring in 1941, a temple was constructed at this spot, with a portrait as well a marble statue of Baba. At the foot of the famous neem tree, there lies a paduka, donated by devotees in honour of Sai Baba. The tomb of Sai Baba's own guru is also believed to be located at this particular place.
