Situated within the Sai Baba Sansthan temple complex, Chavadi translates to village office, where before it was acquired by the Sansthan trust, village records were kept and taxes collected. Chavadi gains its significance from the fact that Sri Sai Baba would spend his nights, on an alternating basis, particularly during his later years.

The ritual of taking his procession down the same route is practised even today, every Thursday. The Chavadi has two divisions – one of which has a large portrait of Shirdi. A white chair and a wooden bed that belonged to Baba can also be seen here.
