Naharlagun, India Overview

Located at an altitude of 200 meters above sea level on the foothills of Himalayas, Naharlagun is a small, but important town of Papum Pare district. Naharlagun in Arunachal Pradesh is only 10 kms away from the state capital, Itanagar. Naharlagun, unlike many other towns of Arunachal Pradesh, is blessed with easy accessibility.

Since the town is surrounded by mountains, Naharlagun enjoys suffers annual long monsoon rains. Naharlagun is one of the nine administrative sites of Papum Pare district. The town is resided by local tribes like Nishi and the Mikir. The main occupation of these people is agriculture. Orchids, canes, bamboos and a wide variety of creepers are the vegetation of Naharlagun.
