The Brahmapureeswarar Temple, Seerkazhi, Tamil Nadu India

The Brahmapureeswarar Temple is devoted to Lord Shiva and Goddess Thirunilainayaki. This temple complex has 3 different shrines to Shiva, with the main Brahmapureeswarar Shrine in the lower level. The second level has idols of Periyanakar with Periyanayaki on a Thoni, due to which the shrine is named as Thoniappar. The Seerkazhi Temple has around 22 Theerthams with the main one being the Brahma Theertham, where many ancient saints have taken bath and offered their prayers. There are four tall gopurams on each side of the temple, with a high boundary wall. Daily, puja is done six times by the priests, three before noon and three in the evening. The temple is known for celebrating the Brahmotsavam Festival during the Tamil month of Chithra.
