Shaheed Minar, Tamenglong, Manipur India

The imposing Shaheed Minar of Bir Tikendrajit park stand tall in the eastern side of the Imphal Polo ground. This Minar commemorates the indomitable spirit of Manipur martyrs who sacrificed their lives while fighting against the British in 1891. The eye-catching Minar also serves as an ideal background for photo shoots.

At the north end of the Bir Tikendrajit Park is the Shaheed Minar. The Shahid Minar was erected in memory of Yubaraj Bir Tikendrajit and General Thangal who were hung in public by British at this site in 1891. The memorial is a minaret consisting of 3 vertical beams joining together at the top. At the tip of the memorial are 3 mythical dragons.
