Sajja Kothi is a major attraction at Panhala, Maharashtra. It was built by the Mohammedans in 1008 AD. Sajja Kothi is the place where Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj used to plan his courageous activities. There is an interesting story attached to this monument. It is said that Shivaji tricked Siddi Johar, a terrifying Bijapur General, when he attacked Panhala, by escaping from the window of Sajja Kothi while a brave stalwart Shiva Kashid disguised as Shivaji, fought the wrath of the general. Sajja Kothi is also a place where Sambhaji, Shivaji's son was imprisoned.
