National Museum of India in Delhi is located in the Barakhamba Road. It was inaugurated for the general people on the 5th of June in the year of 1978, which is the world environment day. With the intension of indulging people for environmental education and initiating the consciousness for conservation, the India National Museum is the perfect place, which introduces children to the world of flora and fauna. The main motto of the National Museum in Delhi is educate as well as entertain.
National Museum of India consists of four theme based galleries and a great number of activity areas. The first gallery offers a general idea about the evolution of life and a brief introduction to the flora and fauna, the natural habitats and the commonly faced threats. The second gallery is for the ecosystems and the dangers they face. The third one provides the knowledge about the endangered species of birds and animals of the Indian subcontinent. The fourth gallery is completely on cells and tissues with the intricate knowledge about the smallest parts of the body. This gallery stresses on the basic difference between plant and animal cells and tissues.
Like all other Delhi Museums the National Museum of India is also well maintained.
