Chandoli National Park, Sangli, Maharashtra India

Chandoli National Park is situated in the western part of the state of Maharashtra in Sangli District and covers an area of ﾠ317.67ﾠkm2ﾠ and is well connected by the Kolhapur District, Satara District and Ratnagiri District.ﾠChandoli National Park was initially declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1985 and later as a national park in 2004. Some animals that are found in the forest are ﾠgaurs, deer, leopard cats, ﾠsloth bears,tigers, barking deer, mouse deer,ﾠpanthersﾠand so on. Hereﾠbird watching trips are organised in the spring season when the birds can be commonly sighted.The Chandoli National Park is also well accessible. There are wildlife resorts and lodges where one can stay.ﾠLots of other things such asﾠVasant Sagar Reservoir, Kandhardoh falls and Tanali falls are here to enhance the beauty of this National Park. Scenic points like Kokna darshan, Zolambi sada and the virgin forest of Rundiv add to the recreation value. Best time to visit is October to February. June to September have heavy rainfall over 3,500 mm (140 in).
