Ramagundam, Overview
Ramagundam is a town in the Karimnagar district of Andhra Pradesh and is a wonderful example of a growing and prospering India. This town is commonly known as the town of Energy as there are some very big thermal stations that are established here which has propelled this town from a sleepy little place to one that has generated employment and energy for millions. This is truly a place in Andhra Pradesh that is growing in leaps and bounds and for the betterment of society. This town in names after the famous temple of Lord rama that is situated here and also after the many springs that can be found in this region. Ramagundam is situated in the Godavari Valley coalfields and has one of India's largest thermal power stations, run by NTP. The companies take the raw coal from this coal belt and make carbon derivatives. All in all this is one very industrial belt to visit and you will realise how a very industrial town functions the moment you are in Ramagundam. Today the factor that makes this town so very famous is not even the old Rama temple but the NTPC power plant that has changed the life of millions. It has given hope in dollops to all the people that are living in this state and helped propel a whole area into modernity. It is worth visiting the immense thermal plant to realise that sometimes the new era actually gives birth to structures that themselves will make history.
