Ampang Jaya, Malaysia Overview
Ampang Jaya, more commonly known as just Ampang, is a suburb of Kuala Lumpur located in the state of Selangor, Malaysia. It is the fifth largest town or city in Malaysia after Subang Jaya, Kuala Lumpur, Klang and Johor Bahru. It borders a district within Kuala Lumpur also known as Ampang. It covers the Selangor districts of Gombak and Hulu Langat. Ampang is often confused with Jalan Ampang, a street in Kuala Lumpur which is home to many foreign diplomatic missions. It is administered by the Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ).
Ampang is often called 'Korea Town' because of the large South Korean expatriate community living here.
