The Porcupine Point  famously known as the Sunset Point  is a captivating spot in Matheran. It has got its name after the Porcupine Bird that it is closely said to resemble.

Cathedral Rocks are a nearby attraction that can be seen from here. This spot provides for a fantastic view of the setting sun and the Prabalgad Fort. Porcupine Point also known as the Sunset Point is a famous viewpoint in Matheran and ideal for catching the sunset. The viewpoint also provides excellent views of Prabalgad Fort and the surrounding forests. It is known as the procupine point because its shape resembles the shape of the quill of the Porcupine Bird. The point is located 4km from the main market and 3km from the Post Office.
