Morjim Beach, Mapusa, Goa India

Morjim beach is located to the south of Ashvem beach. It lies on on the northern side of the mouth of the Chopdem river. From the beach one can see the Chapora fort upon a hill on the other side of the Chopdem river. Morjim beach is situated at a distance of 18 kms. from Mapusa and 30 kms. from Panaji. The part of the beach directly opposite the fort is usually deserted. A few palm and Casuarina pines can be found on the beach.

Nice and cool Morjim Beach extends till the estuary of the Chapora river with the Arabian Sea. The southern part of the beach near the north bank of Chapora estuary is unspoilt and free from shacks. Turtles and crabs can be spotted here.
