Mankhim Temple belongs to the Rai community who believe in worshipping the nature. Sakewa Puja, performed in the temple is very famous. It starts when the plants start growing and is celebrated with various forms of dance.
Mankhim, the temple of the Rai, one of Nepal's most ancient ethnolinguistic groups, is located at Aritar, Sikkim. Here the Rai community assembles twice every year for the celebration of Sakew, a day fixed for worship (usually falling in the months of April or May). In the Nepali language this worship is called Ubhowli.
The Mankhim Temple is located at the Maity Village in Aritar. The temple is of Rai origin who believes in the worship of nature. The temple is known for the rocks that surround the temple which have the footprints of elephants on them.
