The Langpangkong Range is a mountain range in Nagaland, India. It one of the six major mountain ranges inhabited by the Ao people. It is located between the valleys of the Dikhu and Milak rivers in the Mokokchung District. An Ahom king who escaped from his capital due to court intrigues and rivalries, is believed to have taken refuge here. The cave where he apparently took shelter still remains in the area. Tuli town and Changtongya are the important towns of this range. National Highway 61 runs all along the top of the range.
The Langpangkong caves are known for their hospitable nature like the Nagas of Nagalnd. They gave shelter to an Ahom king who fled from Sibsagar in Assam following a royal tussle. The cave which gave shelter to the King still remains there without any major damage. Actually the caves of Nagaland are known for their protective nature than for their beauty. They give santuacry to every needy person man or animal with love and care. They may not appease to the aesthetic sense of man but they are important in the sense they give protection from the enemies and the equally violent weather.
