The Jagannath Temple is across one of the artificial lakes in front of the palace. It rises from an octagonal base to a striking orange four-storeyed 'Shikhara' or tower.
Jagannath temple is located in the premises of the Ujjayanta Palace. It is a famous temple dedicated to Hindu Gods Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra in Agartala. It is believed that the idol of Neelmadhav or Lord Jagannath at Puri have been donated from this temple. It was built during the 19th century by the Maharaja of Tripura, Maharaja Radha Kishore Manikya.
