Batu Ferringhi, Malaysia Overview
Batu Ferringhi (Foreigner's Rock) is a little town at Penang Island, Malaysia. Batu Ferringhi is actually very nice beach area, one of the most popular in Penang. Along this famous beach area, there are numerous restaurants, transport rental services, and souvenir stores. The island is divided into two administrative districts - South West Penang Island and North East Penang Island.The current Chief Minister of Penang is Lim Guan Eng, and the post has been continuously held by a non-Malay ethnic Chinese, reflecting the state's ethnic majority.
Penang Island is a part of state of Penang, on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia. The island is the fourth-largest in the country with an area of 293 sq. km. The island is connected with the mainland by the Penang Bridge. The bridge begins at Gelugor on the island and ends in Perai on the mainland. The mainland portion of the Penang state is known as Seberang Perai (Province Wellesley), and together with Penang Island and other smaller islands, form the state of Penang. The capital of the state is George Town city.
