One of the main attractions in the district, Purano Rajbari, Rangauti was believed to be the Capital of Tripura. According to Kaliprasanna Sen, Maharaja Indramanikya made palace at Rangauti at Kailashahar. There is a large lake (Khowra bil) which is spread in an area of 5 square Km and is known as Rajar Deghi.
