The Painganga Wildlife Sanctuary located in the Umarkhed Tehsil of Yavatmal District in Maharashtra, is surrounded by River Painganga on three sides.It is situated in the Umarkhed Tehsil of the city of Yavatmal. The sanctuary covers an area of 324 sq km and consists of southern mixed deciduous forests and dry teak forests. Various animal species like the Nilgai, sambar, hare, jackal, fox, chinkara, four horned antelope, black-buck, tiger and leopard are found here.
