National Botanical Gardens, Kathmandu, Bagmati Nepal

National Botanical Garden is a Government institution holding documented collections of living plants for the purpose of scientific research, conservation, display and education. The garden is situated at Godawari ( 15 15m) towards the south-eastern corner of Kathmandu city.

It is located at the foothills of Mt. Phulchwoki (2715m), the highest peak of the Kathmandu valley. The garden spreads over an area of 82 ha. of varying topography and exposure of which 35 ha. has been developed into various Garden units such as: (1) Physic Garden. (2) Special Garden. (3) Terrace Garden.  (4) Water Garden. (5) V.V.LP Plantation Area. (6) Fern Garden.  (7) Japanese Style Garden . (8) Rock Garden. (9) Rose Garden. (10) Coronation Pond. (11) Lily Garden. (12) Conservation and Educational Garden.
