Bajrayogini Temple is a famous Tantrik temple of Kathmandu valley. It is also well known as Bodhisattva(enlightement who is fulfilling the perfection to attain Buddhahood)'s temple. A very famous temple of Nepal of Bajrayogini situated in Sankhu, Kathmandu is supposed to have the greatest power of blessings. The adduced history explains that the king Mana Dev once mediated at Gun Bihar area.
One of the popular Tantrik Temples located in the Kathmandu Valley is Bajrayogini Temple. This temple is also popularly called as Bodhisattva’s (Bodhisattva means enlightenment who is fulfilling the perfection to attain Buddhahood) temple. This is one of the popular temples of Nepal and it is located in Sankhu. It is believed that this temple has the greatest power of blessings.
Bajrayogini is the goddess with red face, three eyes along with middle finger and thumb on both hands and the goddess is decorated in Bajrayan tantra. The sword of the goddess is also decorated using different amethysts and ornaments. The Bajrayogini temple consist of three floors and other temple is famous with the name of Dharmaghatu chaitya is situated near to this temple. It is said that this temple is older than Swoyambhu Chaitya.
The ancient history states that King Mana Dev used to medicate at Gun Bihar area. After discovering the artistically adorned statue in this temple and fourth century constructed water tap, it is affirmed that Bajrayogini is the religious place of ancient time located in Kathmandu valley, the capital city of Nepal. During the period of Pratap Malla, this temple was renovated and redecorated. He is the popular King of Malla regime in Nepal.
