Soochippara Waterfalls, Thirunelli, Kerala India

Soochippara Waterfalls of Kalpetta, popularly called the Sentinel Rock Waterfalls, fall from a height of 100 to 300 feet. It is situated near Meppadi; 22 km from Kalpetta. In Malayalam, ‘soochi’ means needle and ‘para’ denotes rock; thus the name Soochippara is coined for this waterfall. This fall too has three stretches which fall into Meenmutty, Kanthanpara, and Soochippara. Finally, these stretches merge and reach the Chaliyar River. The place where the three stretches combine forms a pool. This pool provides opportunities for water sports like rafting, swimming and bathing. You have also experience staying on tree top huts that gives panoramic views of the waterfall and the Western Ghats.You have to go through the lush green tea gardens and then pass through the equatorial forest for 2 km to reach the Soochippara Waterfalls. The Sentinal Rock Waterfalls in Kalpetta is an ideal place for photography.
