Ramaswamy Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Rama, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu located in Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu, India.
The temple has beautiful architecture pieces and has been built by the Nayakkar kings. Govinda Dikshitar, the prime minister of the Nayaks, constructed the temple. He added a commercial corridor between his new temple and the older Chakrapani temple.
This temple is located on the southeastern portion of “Porthamarai Kulam” and southern side of “Uchipilliar Kovil” junction. Alwar Sannathi, Sreenivasa Sannathi and Gopalan Sannathi are other temples located within this temple. Achutha Nayaka of Thanjavur constructed the Ramaswamy temple during 16th Century.
This temple consists of one Gopuram, One Maha Mandapam and Karuvarai. The columns of Maha mandabam are enriched with some of the famous stone carvings of Vamana Avatharam, Meenakshi Kalyanam, Sukreeva Pattabisekam and Ramayanam.
