Saptakoteshwar Temple: the Saptakoteshwar Temple is one of the six most important Shiva temples in the Konkan region. The temple was actually destroyed by the Portuguese during their conquest but the shiva linga was shifted by devotees and buried in a nearby paddy field.  Eventually the temple was built by the Maratha King Shivaji who had gone to pray to the Lord and received an omen from the Lord.
