The Jaypal than is situated 13 km from south of Nalbari. It is a local belief that the temple was discovered by a cow named ‘Kapali’, during the rule of Ahom king, Sib Singha (1718-1744). A major earthquake destroyed parts of the temple. Therefore the remains of the temple could be seen half buried underground.
