Gokak Falls, Belgaum, Karnataka India

Gokak falls is a beautiful serene place located 60 kms away from Belgaum. This falls has a height of about 170 feet. The river Ghataprapha after winding a course of a long route takes a leap of 52 meters, over a rocky bed 170 feet down. The falls is famous for its spread and shape. There is a hydro-electric power generating station functioning here since 1887. 

Gokak Falls is one of the famous attractions around Belgaum. It is a waterfall which is well-known for its splendor. This tourist spot is located at a distance of 60 kilometers from Belgaum. It is around 10 kilometers from Gokak town. Excluding its width and colour, the general features of the waterfall like its height, shape and speed are quite similar to the Niagara falls.
