Ajgaibinath temple is one of the most pious destinations for Hindus. the temple at a height of 108 feet is situated in the Sultanganj area which comes under the Bhagalpur division. It is surrounded by the holy uttar vahini (flowing from South to North) Ganga. this is the place from where a large number of Hindus in the month of Shravan (August) carry the holy water of the Ganga to reach Deoghar in Jharkhand for pouring it onto Lord Shiva. For this, they cover the distance of 105 km.
this is the first of its kind temple in the world which is worshipped in two different names- Baidhnath and Ajgaibinath. Premanand Giri, the priest, says, Ajgaibinath Shivalinga was established in the 16th century by Mahatma Harnath Bharti.
