Urusvati Museum of Folklore is located at Madhram in Shilkopur Village in Gurgaon. The museum is the treasure store of Indian folk stories. Treasured artifacts depicting famed stories that grace the walls of the museum bring to life a forgotten past. The exhibits including precious paintings, sculptures and dioramas offer pleasant reminders of old tales.
This museum is now becoming popular amongst the travellers and locals alike.Towards the exteriors the museum looks like a farmhouse, however on stepping inside the premises one notices that how this two-storeyed building demonstrates the true traits of the golden era, which has been forgotten by the new generation. The museum depicts the traditions of the folk classes in the Northern and Central India, by ways and means of the romantic and love stories.
There are numerous wall hangings, paintings, dioramas, handicrafts, sculptures and pottery and adorning the walls of the museum which narrates the stories of love through various historic artifacts and remains. Upon visiting this place you will see a painting of Bahadur Shah Zafar's wife on the wall, which is displayed amidst the beautiful craft of phulkari dupattas.
