Hedakhan Ashram, Haldwani, Uttarakhand India

Haidakhan is a tiny village, next to ashram property where Haidakhan Babaji lived from 1970 to 1984. It is a very holy pilgrimage place, a place of pristine beauty: mountains, Gautami Ganga River, temples, gardens, and dormitories.

Haidakhan is in the state of Uttrakhand, in the District of Nainital. The nearest bigger village is Kathgodam; the nearest city is Haldwani.

From Haldwani, it is about 3 hours of rough terrain through the mountains in a jeep-type vehicle, plus a good hour of walking, to arrive at the Haidakhan Ashram.
If you feel drawn to visit Haidakhan, we can give you basic instructions to get there. It is always better to travel with others who know the ropes if you have not been to India before, even if you have all the 'directions.' This will insure that you will have more safety and you will pay a lot less for all of the services you need to get to where you are going. (Bargaining is the order of the day, so 'new people' are usually charged at least 3 times the going rate. It's easy to tell you are 'new.')
